Radios
I have several Baofengs and highly recommend them, especially for the price and battery life. You just need to make sure not to use any licensed frequencies (unless you're licensed, of course) as the Baofengs are capable of some.- Taco Loco

On road trips I also carry Baofeng UV-5R handhelds since they’re cheap, easy to use, and have great battery life. I have four to distribute between family and friends while camping or convoying.- Taco Loco

I agree with @StormRnr. Ham has the power for remote areas and there is almost always someone monitoring somewhere. It’s also good for natural disasters and civil defense. Yeah, these were the exact size as the cutouts. I didn't like the gray housings either, so I'll have to paint/powder coat at some point, but they were priced right for now and got decent reviews. Roof Rack Lighting Question
I’ll probably do a test wire run before I cut up the harness. I didn’t think I wanted lights so I have the generic fairing with 6 notches cut into it. Thanks! I wish I took a picture of the roof's threaded mounts before I silicone'd and lock-threaded the roof rack bolts. lol I assumed it would work, but I wanted a second opinion before I broke the seal.
