• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

No regrets yet, they're louder than the stock tires obviously, fuel economy dropped off some too. Both of those were to be expected. Still haven't looked too much into the tent yet. For the bumper I'm still uncertain as well. I've beent looking at Relentless Fab's bumpers, as well as CBI and C4...

I think you read my post as saying I don't like dark themes. I am in fact a huge fan of them.

Figured I'd start a thread on my build. I picked this up in October of 2019 shortly after wrecking my Second Gen. The very first thing I did was add a roof rack. I go kayak fishing, and have two over-sized kayaks. With the short bed, there weren't many options aside from a trailer or hitch...

Looks really good, in my opinion. But I'm just a fan of dark themes in general.

Archived Do you guys think there should be a limit on RotM submissions?

    I would go top 3. In addition, if there's a draw, open it up to that additional entry. Just to be clear, if you had: 1st - 17 2nd- 15 3rd - 14 4th - 14 5th - 12 Then 1st-4th would advance to final voting. But if it was something like: 1st - 17 2nd- 17 3rd - 14 4th - 12 5th - 10 Then it still...

    5.29 Regear on stock

I'll add my experience after this little note. Everyone is going to experience gears differently. This is why you see people preaching 4.88s on flat ground. Where as someone who lives in a hilly area or at elevation, would preach 5.29s. You also need to take into account of which transmission...

You could also do away with Phase 2 all together, or put in a higher "Votes Required" (ie 5 votes minimum) in Phase 1 to advance to Phase 2.

Archived Do you guys think there should be a limit on RotM submissions?

Probably just need different phases of voting, as suggested above. Phase 1: Photo Submission & Initial votes casted. Phase 2 Quarter Final: All photos that received more than one vote are voted on again, any that received one vote or less are disqualified. (This will clear up cluttered...

    Tire Size Fitment and Lift

I agree 100%. I think a lot of the successful 285/75/16 installations I've seen is due to the stock Pro wheels. Most of the guys that couldn't get it to fit were trying to do so with method wheels at a positive offset or something else to that effect. I know my wheels sit at -12 and I believe 7"...

    Tire Size Fitment and Lift

To the TRD Pro guys, I don't want to be that guy that puts false information out there, but I've seen about five different '18-'19 TRD Pro guys stuff 285/75/16's, with minimal rubbing on the front. This was with pinch weld and CMC done. After forming the wheel well liners with heat, they had no...

is wider tires on a daily 2019 i4 worth it

I'd absolutely re-gear it. I'd go 5.29's, especially with that engine.
