• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Bushveld Tent

I have this tent, just got it last month, but so far I like the design.. it sets up in about a minute.. takedown is about 3minutes from full setup with 2 people.. 1 person is a bit harder trying to get the lower rain flaps/dust seal to get up into the hardshell portion I have not come up with...

    Radios

no-one in my groups uses CB, or HAM for comms as GMRS/FRS is far more common and available. GMRS can transmit on an FRS available frequency at lower wattages... so my groups have gone to fully GMRS within the group... its a one time fee of $30(I beleive this is in effect now), or $70 (what I...

    Radios

baofeng radios are by far the cheapest... although not as compact as some of the midland GMRS radios.. the baofeng handset is cheap, and the antenna it comes with is not the greatest.. I upgraded mine to a Nagoya 771-NA whip antenna and got a bit more range of reception.. I since upgraded to a...

    Suspension install

I would definitly set aside a LONG day, or at least 2 to do the install.. I did my rears, and 1 front in a day... day 2 I finnished the drivers side, and did the ECGS bushing install. of course doing this in my dirt driveway on jackstands... worth it to know how to fix or get to anything on your...

Dealer recommended Throttle Body cleaning at 22k?

I do mine every oil change.. takes like 10 minutes to remove the intake, spray it down, and wipe it out. also recommend getting some MAF/MAP sensor safe cleaner spray, and cleaning the MAF/MAP sensor..

    Wiper blades?

I prefer the Bosch Icon beam style wiper blades.. they do tend to hop on the lower portion drivers side due to the angle/sweeping motion of the blades in slower/ drizzle wiper speeds but when in a downpour it is not noticeable. I currently run Bosch Snow Driver blades and have not had any issues...

    Midland MXT500 install

I mounted mine a little higher than the MXT275 so access to the controls is easier.. and i went to local Autozone to get some terminal ends, and did the wiring install in the parking lot.. took about 10 minutes.. I was able to fish the wire under the center console and across the top of the...

    Midland MXT500 install

I had one.. its the MXT275 15watt in the picture I posted above... I wanted more power/clarity of the 50 watt radio.. MXT500 was the one to fit the bill... but looks like I may be mounting it near where I had the MXT275 in the footwell... this is a pic I found of the MXT400... the MXT500 is...

    Midland MXT500 install

interested... I just got my MXT500 the other day... thinking I may have to disassemble the 3tpam, and remove the cluster to run wires.. kinda gives me an excuse to remount the speedo calibration box, and run a USB wire for it so I can reprogram it easily for more accuracy.. I want the radio...
