    J66 are to be avoided for your needs because they are very soft and noodly, axle wrap We offer an Add a leaf that would do what you want. Like you said, Toyota tunes their springs for a completely unloaded truck, no good for any weight hauling.

    Being that you have ADS shocks, and hoping those are well tuned, then it's the stock hangers causing that harshness. The combo of ADS shocks, stock leaves + AAL and Hh will ride great.

    If its the bushings, use energy suspension bushing grease on the bushings, other than that, pretty much look for metal to metal scrapping, such as the clips. I like to spray something on the springs to keep them from rusting

    Yeah you'll need to turn that bolt around, common issue with several mfrs springs actually because Toyota put gas tank surprisingly close to spring Maybe if you droop the axle out, you will be able to get the bolt turned around without removing the spring

    I personally like the Dobinsons better, I don't like the Icons method, The Icons extra leaf (you add in) is much thicker than the main leaf which is backwards. OME and ICON think you can make everyone happy with 1 leaf pack and I don't agree, it results in compromises.

    Simply add up everything you have added to rear axle weight or go weigh rear axle on a scale. Everything you put on your truck can add or subtract weight from rear. Mfrs list the added weight range, such as Deaver U402 series and Dobinsons

    The stock unloaded dimension from the point of stock bump up to bump brackets is about 2.5" The stock lift height is ~8.25" if measure from top of the axle tube to bottom of the frame rails (not bump bracket). I bet your truck would be around 7"

    To find your actual lift height, measure from the top of the axle tube to bottom of frame rail (near bump bracket), stock is ~8.25 on numerous 2nd/3rd gen Tacomas I have personally measured. A 3" lift would then be about 11.25"
