Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!
Tacoma3G is a beginner-friendly 3rd Generation Toyota Tacoma Forum (2016-2023 model-years). We are a community of people who are focused on good information and good vibes.
I noticed an engine leak on the front passenger side of the engine. There is not much info here so I'm posting a photo.
Looks like it's been a while. It's hard to see down there...
Does anyone have any experience with something like this?

Yep. When it was sitting on the timbers, the ride was very bouncy, as you'd expect from hard rubber—like a solid Wheelbarrow tire. Once I got it lifted it was sitting about 2 inches over the tumbrens and I could feel the bottom out because it was limiting travel of the springs and shocks so they...
I find both the Timbrens and the Sumos are not great. I've had both.
You're better off with a helper spring or add-a-leaf. The ride quality of an actual leaf spring is better than that of rubber or foam.
If you have fancy shocks, either timbren or sumo will limit up travel and prevent you...
Shops also only see the failures. So TCCN might say what he says about not changing fluid because he's seen the failures correlated to it. But he doesn't see instances where there are no failures, and has no idea how many of those there might be. He could be seeing 1% or 99% and there's no way...
TBH I'm dubious about most of the things that guys says. He may be right, but maybe not. For me he doesn't exude credibility just because he has a lot of long videos with tons of views.
Either way, my truck has 100k and benefited from the drain and fill.

TL;DR If you hate the Tacoma transmission, it might be under-filled.
I have a 2017 TRDOR with the 6-speed Auto 100k Miles, 2" lift 285/70 R17 tires.
It has always had the common transmission issues of downshifting early and holding the lower gear FOR EVER going up hills. Hunting for gears...
Bad seal. Also, the outer bearing. Check and see if there is a lot of play in the CV at the axle. If so, get the ECGS bushing and seal replacement kit.
TIP: If you have trouble getting the removal tool to fit, grind it down a bit on the back side so that it will fit. The one I used would not...
I made a video with more info and thought and detail about bump stops than anyone should put into the topic. But in the process, I did a detailed comparison between Timbren Active Off-Road Bump Stops and Sumo Springs.

There have to be custom coil springs available to swap in. Or maybe a strut from a different application. Or maybe custom springs. Same for the rear. Custom lowering springs.
