Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!
Tacoma3G is a beginner-friendly 3rd Generation Toyota Tacoma Forum (2016-2023 model-years). We are a community of people who are focused on good information and good vibes.
There are DIY's on TacomaWorld showing how to get an oversized spare in the stock location.
There is also a new gas can (similar to rotopax) that will mount in the spare tire spot. Can't think of the company's name right now.
All of your current accessories + the incoming bumper setup is fine on your stock fox suspension. I have a local buddy on stock sport suspension with all that and more, and he does just fine on light to moderate off-roading. These trucks are pretty dang capable right out of the box.
Just plain black will be your best bet. It'll be pretty damn close to the color of the plastic on the rest of the rear bumper. Color matching to the truck likely won't be possible with plastidip.
Texture matching is possible, though. The distance you spray the final coat determines how much...
Why not plasti-dip or get color matched caps? $325 seems steep for something so easily damaged (vinyl). Hell, a metal high clearance bumper would be worth the investment, too.
If you're sold on a wrap, check out Meister Works in Renton, and tell Dave (the owner) that Arron sent you. I used to...
For the price, I love it. I definitely wanted a hard tri fold, or roll up... but this was a steal at $200 ( I think?). it seems to keep the rain out, and hasn't started sagging at all. My gas mileage is up about 2 MPG, which is cool too. Shipping was super fast via amazon, and the install was cake.
Thank you, Sir! ?
Maxx is a great dude, and built a hell of a trailer. I've taken it out a few times, and it's nearly perfect for my needs. My only gripe is the height of the shell. I had to get the upgraded telescoping ladder for my CVT tent to support the RTT
I've got the 67designs mount on my TPAM from Expedition Essentials. Works great, though the 67designs mount seems to have list some of it's clamping power. EXE has switched away from 67designs and now uses Tacform. I've been told the Tacform is a nice upgrade.
