• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Traveler trailer towing

I use a Haul Master 10,000 lb WDH that was relatively inexpensive (which is why I bought it). Right now, it meets the need and does the job well - when set up correctly like PlainTaco stated - but the thing is heavy. 80lbs of weight just for the hitch and bars. That's why I'm now looking...

    Traveler trailer towing

True. I had a 2008 with the 4.0 that I now wish I had kept. And “enjoyable” is subjective to be sure but a regear has to at least make it gooder.

    Traveler trailer towing

I appreciate this thread because I’ve been searching for the answer on my life’s question: to regear or not regear and if not regear, then what? FWIW, it’s been a minute since I’ve posted to the forums but I want to share my real world towing experience taking my 2021 Winnebago 2108FBS on a...

    Off road campers

I really like how the Hikes look - how are you liking it? If just me I'd probably already have one but my wife is more keen to be on a more "luxury" side of things (thinking an Imagine XLS 17MKE or a Micro Minnie)

    Throttle controllers

No worries - didn't think that at all. I am gonna check out the Bank's Power. Maybe I can get some sucker to buy this Pedal Commander. ;)

    Throttle controllers

I'm normally the guy that is pretty good about thinking through the what-ifs but not on this decision. Didn't even occur to me that the Pedal Commander will create that open circuit if it goes bonkers - and now thinking about it, makes sense if it were to do so. *knocks harder on wood.

    Throttle controllers

Oh, man - better not be a gimmick. First thing I noticed driving my Gen3 was the lag (and my first thought of wondering if I made a mistake getting rid of that bulletproof 4.0 engine in my Gen2) so I got a Pedal Commander as one of my first mods on the Gen3 back last summer. So far, no issues...

    What Would You Do?

Good point. In this morning's scavenger hunt I found two separate $50 listings (that includes the TPMS) from guys not far up the road from me...these should easily hold the 265/75/16s I'll run.

    What Would You Do?

Facts. Makes sense and I could end up seeing myself go that way too. Thanks for the comment.

That's worth considering - I haven't put much thought into that. Thanks!

    Deadly crash…Possible master brake cylinder?

Wow - that is tragic news. Thanks for sharing because I'm a relatively new owner of a 2019 and wasn't aware of anything master brake cylinder related but now I'm going to check myself.

    What Would You Do?

I should flesh out my thinking process and logic on the why I'm looking at doing this, and how I want to make the money work. In my old set up I had 8 total matching wheels with the intent of having all 8 on the same tire. I had BFG KO2s on my truck (they were awesome tires for me) and will...
