I'd guess something in a shock then, but could be as simple as a squeak in an exhaust hanger. Just to cover your bases let it cool completely the crawl under and wiggle anything that can move like exhaust, spare tire, etc.
Looks like you're right. The part number for the 5100's was 3rd Gen from when I looked it up previously.
I wonder if they used OR springs? Seems taller than the average SR I see around by quite a bit.
The spacer in the rear is steel, just surface rust on it for now. The U-bolts are stupid...
+1 for EBC. I have been swapping them onto everything I work on and have been thoroughly impressed. Pick a compound that fits your needs and they'll be great.
Side note, be sure to check Amazon's 'warehouse deals' for a bargain. Got the redstuff pads for my Golf on there for $30 a set.
I was getting a bit of squeak on the OEM rear springs, sounds similar. Narrowed it down by bouncing the rear of the truck in the driveway, was in the driver's side spring pack or rear bushings. Sprayed both with silicone spray and took it to full flex on the trail a few times, not a sound since.
So, I bought my '16 SR with some parts on it not really knowing much beyond 'it has a lift.' I'm hoping to get some help in nailing down where I'm actually at, and what sort of options I have for wheels/tires.
