• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

VFTuner - Question for people that own it.

It's not that the tunes work better for automatics more than manuals, it's that the automatics have so much to gain from tuning that the benefits are pretty massive. The next thing is most tunes out there for manuals are merely automatic transmission tunes that have just been copied and pasted...

VFTuner - Question for people that own it.

By default, i beleive even with a non-pro tuner licensed version of VF you have access to all of the ECU id's supported. I believe you should even have all of the stock ecu files etc on your computer for everything supported. I could be wrong, as it has been a while since I utilized a new ecu...

VFTuner - Question for people that own it.

Once you're tuned there technically is no need to update ever again. The only reason people go I'd that there are tune developers still making better and better tunes. For example I have tuned plenty of customers and most are still extremely happy with no desire to update. However I have newer...

    Performance LT Suspension Capabilities

Long travel isn't really limited by the power being produced by your truck. You could be in limp mode and get faced enough to hit a set of bumps fast enough to damage the suspension. The LT is more subject to the forces and loads placed on it while being battered than it is the power the truck...

VFTuner - Question for people that own it.

That's correct, when you unlock your ECU id it will show in the box and your credit count will drop to 1. Do you have a tune to flash? Did you get a tune from OV/VF way back when and just never flash it?
