    If you idle a lot it will throw off your range and mpgs. The best way to spot check it is to fill her up till the pump clicks (preferably same station and pump), document your mileage, drive normally for a few hundred miles, then fill her back up and divide mileage by gallons used.     Most auto part stores sell online resistors to correct that problem. They do get hot to the touch, so I'd mount them under the hood or behind the taillights. The mirrors are probably abs which can deform or get weird with heat
