• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Review Airbedz for the Taco

Just got my new truck bed air mattress. It fits pretty well in my standard bed. A little bit of a gap over the wheel wells causes a slight bit of a roll to each side. The mattress is 12" thick when inflated. There is 22 1/2" of clearance between the top of the mattress and the lower...

I changed all oils (engine, trans, transfer, diff) and my MPG went way up

I just hit 30K and will be doing this (drain and fill) over the weekend. I got this to help: Motivx Tools Oil Filter Wrench POWERWORKS Oil Filter Drain Tool Oil Filter Release Hose Tube

    reintroduction with new rig

Congrats. I am contemplating a CAI or a snorkel. I already purchased the snorkel (great deal from Expedition Overland - XO), just don't know if I want to cut a huge hole in my fender yet.

    Rear differential breather reroute.

I've had the parts for a year now, just haven't gotten to it yet. Probably should have before this on Sunday...

    Totaled...

Ok, that looks pretty bad. These days they 'total' a vehicle when just the airbags are deployed. I hope you are ok.

    Totaled...

@Huck89, how bad is it? Can you salvage title it? Might be worth checking out.

Performance Cold Air Intakes, to be, or not to be...

@Captqc, with or without front air scoop? Which is better? I do a lot of trails in MT with pretty significant water crossings. Mark

    Safariland "Snorkel" - Regrets?

I picked up a new, still in the box, Safariland snorkel a few weeks ago at a very good price. Does anyone regret installing theirs? Did anyone experience increased wind noise/road noise? It's a pretty big commitment to cut a massive hole in your fender. Mark 406Camper

I hate the transmission; Need a tune

No smog check in Montana. But I have heard that it doesn't matter. Shouldn't be detectable. The tune guys on this forum can confirm that.

I hate the transmission; Need a tune

Confirmed. I paid $450 for OTT, but I am in a very remote area. Not many tuners in MT.

Review ARE Truck Topper/hard shell/campershell/truck cap

7/13 Update below I recently purchased the A.R.E. CX Classic truck 'cap' for my 2017 TRD OR. I got 'windoors' on both sides (one with a slider and one without) and the front folding/removable window. Very disappointed in the product. It leaks so much that I can't build out a permanent...
