Planning Spring Build - Aftermarket LCA's. Do you really need them?

I wheel pretty hard in Montana. Mostly 4L, not a lot of rock climbing. I really like the Dirt Kings, but can't afford them. How many of you have aftermarket LCA's?

So I messed up my stock LCA’s by waiting to long to do cam tabs or a cam tab support like marlin crawlers. I would say do that first in my opinion.

Newb question. What other benefits are there to switching out LCA's? Wider stance? More clearance and strength?
