1️⃣ Getting Started...
Recently my daughter tried to connect her iPhone Apple Play to my 2016 Tacoma stereo, and the speakers immediately stopped working. I can see there is audio as the volume indicator shows pulses. Took it to the dealer and they said they tried a software update (not sure if they did) ; it still is not working. They recommended a "new' Toyota stereo system ($$$). :/
Anyone out there have this issue and were you able to resolve without having to buy a new stereo system? Seems to me it had something to do with the connection of Apple Play however, we have disconnect the phones from the system with no success of curing this issue.

I have heard of similar issues with "apple" or "iPhone"
A recent issue came up with a Bluetooth radio when a person tried to connect it to their "phone"
Most likely the same as it was immediately noticed upon connection...... it is connected but not sending a complete signal.

They device used to connect has stolen the radio,............ "it is connected" but not completely,.... a glitch or bug if you will.
THAT is why they suggested ,......... just get a new radio.

Is there a way to get the truck radio to "forget" and reset,.... maybe but this most likely would take a power down for a unknown amount of time as memory chips are made to "remember",..... thats their job.

Technology is great is it not,...... hope you get it figured out,.....
This has happened before and maybe someone will chime in on a fix they have discovered.

You can try to plug the same phone or a different device into the USB dash port on the truck to "connect" to the radio,...
this may force a disconnect..... worth a try.

I was under the impression pre-2020 trucks didn't have Apple Play? The best option for troubleshooting would be to try a different phone and see if you have the same issue. Then try another app. Also try another USB cable. The phone will connect over Bluetooth for phone calls, but for music you have to USB I believe. I use Android though, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
