• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

just to add the fog lights I had to order the headlamp stalk, relay, and harness. It was a complete plug and play. My truck did not come with intermittent wipers either since sr's do not come equipped with them.
part numbers to add fogs (some of the Sr's are prewired from factory).
82114-04010 harness
90080-87026 fog lamp relay
84140-0r020 for headlamp stalk.

Intermittent wipers
84652-06340 wiper stalk

Installed our @MESO blackout dash setup. In doing so we got rid of one of the biggest complaints we had about the Tacoma, all the damn chrome. The amount of glare that comes off the chrome, especially the shifter surround, is insane. Terrible design.

Hey Andy, did you have to mod the dash piece to run your USB cable through it? Or does it just run between the clip positions?

Thanks

Nope. No modding necessary. I just ran it behind and have enough coming out to reach the USB plug and on the other end my phone in the cradle.

NY weather has been crappy. Rainy and windy. I have parts to install!!
I feel you on that... it's been raining in North TX the last 3 days....

Continued filming my leaf spring and airbag install video since it finally stopped raining. Problem is, trying to create a decent video with good angles and such is taking me a while, and I ran out of daylight. Tomorrow is more rain and Friday won’t have rain, but I’m supposed to hit the road for a weekend camping trip. Meh, I’ll figure it out.

One observation I have in the comparison photo is that the two bottom springs on the old Dakar pack are a lot thicker than the two bottom springs on the new Dobinsons pack. The Dakar pack has a 600 pound rating and the new one has a 800-1000 pound rating, so we’ll see.

Took off the ugly raptor side steps. Put on Prinsu roof rack. Black Oak LED light bar. LED lights on interior. chrome badge delete. A size bigger tires. K&N filter. Tonneau Cover. Will be doing lift. New sliders. Front and rear bumper. Small mods here and there. Along with a bed cap.

What beach is that? I really enjoy driving on the beach. Its pretty restrictive now though in most places.
When I grew up you were mostly just restricted by the capability of your vehicle. Times have changed.
Nice truck!

It is Assateague Island down beyond Ocean City Maryland. I buy my OSV permit every year. I drive down the beach to the Virginia line. Great fishing and 90% of the time no one comes within 1/2 mile close to me.

Good haul! +1 for the running board removal.

Spent 12 hours in the rain today, trying to get my truck up for a weekend wheeling trip and all while filming. I’m still busy with prep right now, but here is a small update.

Those products are what I bought to try to get a bushing sleeve out of a shackle. None of it worked, but I did get the job done today. Better explanation on that later.

I always love having my little table jack. He helped me roll back the axle so I could get the leaf spring pin in the axle hole easily, without human help. ;)

looks so good. i probably need to add that to my list.

With the limited weekend time I had, I managed to finish the Switch-Pros harness and terminated to my Power Trays as I set prep for electrical work next week.

I also replaced the chromed out fairlead from my HF winch with a 1” Factor55 fairlead. While the bumper was apart, I fine tuned the cuts I made for my HC front bumper. There was rubbing from uneven cuts, so I filed them down until there was some clearance. I missed a spot after I was all done, so next week, I’ll be at it again. That is all.
