• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Random photo from today. Maybe one day I'll wire that winch up.

Remote start installed. This is going to be great in this New York winter and once we hit the road.

Correct me if I am wrong but you went with the N2 Designs? I have one in the box! After an 18 month project it’s a month off to install all the mods waiting on the shelf!

It’s the 12volt.solutions one. I’m not sure if that is the same thing or not.

I suck. I started to install my @DobinsonsUSA snorkel today but I didn’t finish. It got way too cold to apply the paint over the bare metal that I planned on doing. And I was losing daylight and just generally freezing my ass off. I should’ve started earlier in the afternoon. Excited to finish tomorrow though.

Will your ditch light hit when you open the hood on the snorkel? Those KCs are not slim......

You do suck. But this will look dope even though you don't know what you're doing.

Looks killer man!! Rotate the head if it's going to be raining a bunch.

I’ve driven in a nice downpour on the highway and as far as I can tell the filter and air box where clear, but I did turn it sideways the other day for some snowfall for sure

I read online that heavy rain can’t get in there enough to be a problem. The rain that does will evaporate from the air flow before it makes it all the way down and anything that gets all the way to the air box won’t go through the filter into the engine; it will also evaporate.

Did you guys seal your drain hole or leave it open?

Left it open

Leave the drains open. The only potential problem would be snow, it will build up and strangle your air flow.

I have mine completely sealed, Ive pointed a hose directly at it and never seen any sign of water in the air box, Dont ask me how but seems to never get to the air box

Interesting. Maybe I’ll seal it. Having it completely sealed is kind of the point after all.
