I figured i would throw an end all be all in here to settle the age old question "what tire size will fit".
This is my personal opinion and experience, taking into consideration measurements of the wheel well with the cab mount in mind.
You do not have to follow this chart if you have plans to upgrade relatively soon to getting a bigger tire size as it may not be of major importance if that is your plan.
However, it can give you an idea of what will fit with what in regards to tire size and lift with no cutting/molding.

Stock tire sizes (fits regardless of lift size)
17" wheels - 265/65r/17
16" wheels - 265/70r/16

Largest tire without lift (preferred)

16" wheels - 265/75r/16
255/80r/16
17" wheels - 265/70r/17
255/75r/17

3" lift and/or leveling kit

16" wheels - 285/75r/16
255/85r/16

17" wheels - 285/70r/17
255/80r/17

HOW TO DETERMINE TIRE SIZE

Good info.

In addition to tire size, wheel offset/backspace will factor the question of "will it rub?"
In some cases, offset and backspacing can cause you to rub as it changes the angle that your tire meets the wheel well, I realized this when I added spacers to my stock TRD pro wheels.

This is a reason I did not get into those topics as it can vary really depending on how you want your truck stance to sit etc. this is just a safe way to be sure of proper fitment

So, running stock wheels on my ‘16 SR 4WD, any guidance on how large a tire I can run without rubbing? It’s got P245/75/R16 on there now and I am looking at swapping for some Goodrich TAs.
Thanks!

Refer to the chart for without a lift and 16" wheels. you could go with 255/80r or 265/75r

2018 about to get 6112 front. 5160 in rear with Icon AAL. Approx 2 in lift. Wil I have any issues with if I go 285/70/17. Rubbing or cutting? Thanks

I've read a couple guys have done it with no cmc and just trimming some plastic. Ive been researching the same set up. Many upgraded their upper control arms to get max caster to push the wheels forward enough to clear the cab mount. Now the tricky part is matching that with the right wheel offset and back spacing.

I will be replacing the UCAs. Running stock wheels. What does the cmc mean? Thanks

Lol thanks man for the heads up doubt I will be doing that. May just go 265

Yeah I stuck with 265/75 ko2s. Hopefully get my lift installed this month

Question guys I want to buy new wheels for my 2019 Tacoma, I want to know what is a good offset wheels should I get. I want flush with the fender or little pass the fender. Any suggestions...

3.75 to 4.25 backspacing shall work really well this would be best be answered by you local tire shop

How much poke difference between +10mm vs - 25mm wheels 285 75 16 any pictures

I'm upgrading my stock tires to 285/75/16. Wondering if my TPMS (tire pressure monitor sensors) will work with the bigger tires or if I will need new ones?

Tpms has nothing to do with what tire you put on your car . So no worries

Thanks. I wasn't sure if they would work on tires that have higher PSI specs
they will work no problem i run my tires at 45psi , no warnings or need to hit the tpms reset button (shouldnt give you a warning unless the difference between the 4 are drastic )

What is poke
i believe this man is asking how much his rims will stick out :ROFLMAO:

this is the factory rim specs for 2019 tacoma 3.5L
ET
XX would be the positive offset
245/75R16 109S 7Jx16 ET25
265/70R16 112T 7Jx16 ET25
265/65R17 110S 7.5Jx17 ET30
265/60R18 109H 7.5Jx18 ET30

now you can take that and look at your truck and go from there

I just bought new wheels they’re 17x9.5 with a positive 12 and I’m running 265/70/17 with stock height, anyone knows if I go with a 3” lift will it help push the wheel out so it won’t rub with the knuckle if I go with a bigger tire size I have about 1/4 of a inch so it won’t rub right now. Or should I just go with the same size of wheel 17x9.5 but with a -18 offset

You lift will suck the rimss further into the wheel well on your front ,I believe the recommended back spacing is 4.75" which would be about 0 offset would be ideal
And I think 8.5 is the recommended width. On a 9.5 wide rim your 4.75 back spacing would be -13

Thanks bro I just got them and they look good but I didn’t think about when I upgrade my tires and lift it that it will rub on the knuckle that’s why I might get them in a -18 offset maybe that will help

How wide is the wheel
Prob 16x8 if I were to guess. I just ordered a set of VTX wheels 16x8 -12 that I'm going to put on 285/75/16s. I have to add a 1.5" spacer in the front and 1.25" AAL in the rear to be able to clear the 33s without rubbing
