• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

3GTacoma and 4Runner tune testing updates:

For the 4Runner folks
, it's time to start building the tune packs for the 2020+ 4R.

2020+ 4R tune can be considered released.

YotaWerx Tuning Services, Development, and Feedback (https://www.4runners.com/threads/yotawerx-tuning-services-development-and-feedback.21473/page-3#post-374214)

Tune testing/verification completed on a [my wife's] pretty much stock 2020 4wd 4Runner, other than her sliders, roof rack, ladder

VFTuner software currently supports the following 2020+ 4R's:

MY2020: 2wd, 4wd
MY2021: 4wd
MY2022: 4wd

If your vehicle is not in this list, please remain patient as the rest of the ECUs are expected to be added for support soon. In addition, if you have VFTuner or an OBD code reader (most OBD code reader devices are capable of identifying ECU info) and your truck is not in the above list, we would very much appreciate receiving confirmation of your ECU version. This will help us better assist people moving forward.

Please note that while the Limited trim traditionally is 4wd full-time, it usually has a separate ECU ID from the part-time 4wd trucks.

For the 3GTacoma MagSC folks who have been waiting for the 87mm pulley tune, Friday the 12th is the target date to wrap up dev/testing for that tune option.

Update for the FI/MagSC folks; the Stryker 87mm pulley tune testing is just about wrapped up and will release soon. There have been no changes to the pricing structure announced previously for this option/upgrade. When swapping back and forth between 90 and 87mm pulleys, a noticeable difference in the low end and mid range in particular has been noted

Aftermarket fuel rails (credit to @JamesT [TacomaWorld handle]) are getting installed right now and tuning on those will begin immediately as well.

These rails are going to provide a superior tuned fueling condition, and we already have proof of concept for this purpose. The nature of the stock fueling system *could* cause some excessive wear over time as well as not provide an optimal level of performance that is otherwise generally expected from a supercharger.

Remaining on the stock system is not detrimental or anything, and nobody should feel as if this is a modification that is required to run their supercharger safely with their YotaWerx tune. However, this is a set of parts that can enable a reduction of unnecessary wear, possibly yield improved fuel economy (which is of course still subject to several variables), and still provide improved performance when paired with a safe and effective tune.

We're looking forward to working with these rails!

Stay tuned, and thank you all for the support we continue to receive from the community.

:hattip:

We've hit the big 1k followers on IG and have to thank the community for the incredible support and trust they've given us, and we're especially proud of this after having sold the Coyoza brand and started over completely from scratch in terms of community awareness and client base.

Thank you all, and stay safe!

Has mat given any update on a ECT and a gearlock update for tunes?

Loving the way the current one is working in local traffic

Sort of. He released proper GL a couple months ago but pulled it because several of us tested it and reported it not working properly. So still in the works, but no recent update

Yesterday we met up with Mr Juan Garcia locally in El Paso to get him set up on the 90mm Stryker+ tune for his beautiful 2018 Tacoma with the Magnuson supercharger. Juan has plans to eventually go up to the 87mm pulley with the accompanying 87mm Stryker tune upgrade, as well as some exhaust goodies coming his way soon.

Mr Garcia is benefitting from improved throttle response, a complete shift logic and transmission control overhaul, and a significant improvement in power and torque especially down low with his new Stryker tune.

Thank you sir!

You know what, I'd have to ask him again. I asked when I saw it and already forgot lol but it absolutely looks great
Please lmk! I'm still trying to figure out which bumper I want.. As of rn I want to go with C4, but depending on the options and pricing with that one there, might go with this one!

Mr Juan Garcia met up with us right here in El Paso this past weekend to get updated from his already immensely torquey 90mm pulley YotaWerx Stryker supercharger tune to the 87mm pulley tune! Mr Garcia's beautiful Tacoma is now benefitting more from the increased low end responsiveness and power from his 87mm pulley and tune, and the extra bump in boost pressure will be useful for his frequent trips to higher elevation.

We've been keeping this under wraps for some time now, but today we are excited to announce that YotaWerx Tuning has completed a merger and acquisition of Nexus Tuning Group, with Nexus Tuning developers and networked partners coming onboard with YotaWerx Tuning!

This enables YotaWerx to continue to bring the community high quality tuning solutions while working on several projects at once rather than keeping them on the shelf for extended periods of time, and with several more locations available in-network, the availability of local support is that much more complete and easily accessible.

Today (23 Mar 2023) is the official date of the merger. Please be patient with us while we work hard to finish transitioning Nexus Tuning Group content and processes into YotaWerx Tuning. Services available will not be interrupted nor unavailable.

We appreciate the community's enthusiastic support. More big things to come this year, stay TUNED!

Just a little something being cooked up over here at YotaWerx for the 3.5L 3GTacoma NA, for the in-development Blackhawk 2.0 tune update. 👀🤷

Plenty of work still remaining, including further smoothing on that torque dip you see, and ensuring that power numbers like these do not negatively impact drivability.

any updates? Is this the normal tune offered by tuners or does it need to be requested?

Blackhawk 2.0 hasn't been released yet, although we're hoping to finalize and release within the next 6 weeks. We've been doing a soft roll-out with some new customers as we lead up to that.

Want to give a huge shoutout to mZiggy and YotaWerx Tuning as I upgraded from an OTT tune that I was unhappy with.

Talked with guys at R4T and YotaWerx. After a few back and forth messages with great info, mZiggy sent the Blackhawk 2.0 tune. The tune itself took a total of 10 minutes, but finally got to see the R4T shop and chat with those guys.

I had a 1.5 hour drive home with mix of backroads and highway- all I can say is WOW. Throttle response is instant with such smooth shifting. Gear hunting is totally eliminated. There is a very noticeable increase in power with better mpg.

Smiles all around from me 👍🏼😁
Thank you!

Highly suggest Yotawerx for your Taco tune.
