i woke up this morning and drove my truck, it was fine and i wake up again and decide to.ger a haircut.. I noticed the 4x4 light is blinking and I go to engage it in Park to 4Hi and it wont shift over. then i pop into N and go to 4lo and wont go either.. I have a 3500 miles to drive..

has anyone ever experienced this?

It has to shift into 4hi first to shift into 4lo. Try driving a little forward while in 4hi first until it engages. Then you have to be at a complete stop in neutral to shift into 4lo. I have a manual but I believe it’s pretty much the same thing.

So it was parked in 4HI, turned off, and when you turned it back on, it was no longer engaged and wouldn't go back in to 4WD? Am I understanding this correctly?

Do you have full skids? Exhaust reroute? Are you able to visually inspect the actuator?

It's a long shot but check the actuator housing for any signs of physical damage. Check the wiring for any signs of damage or corrosion, moisture intrusion, etc.

The transfer case in my '16 physically tore itself in half, but I never had any issues with the actuator despite all the heat, water, etc. it was subjected to, but it's probably best to rule out the most obvious things first.

I had the same issue but only 4LO at around 2K miles. After many trips to the dealer it was a part in the diff that tells the computer it's locked.
Happened again at around 30K. They replaced the same part which didn't fix it. They replaced the whole 3rd member.

Your specific problem can't be fixed online, only at the dealer. It may be a struggle but they should get it taken care of.

I've tried to switch it back and forth between 2wd and 4hi. its currently in 2wd. the 4x light is BLINKING. when try to engage the 4hi at about 20-30 mph it won't transfer over... i tried for about a half an hour to get it to fix itself. no dice..

OH ALSO MY REAR LOCKING DIFF ISNT ENGAGING EITHER. what the fuck....

i'm taking her in tomorrow to get diagnosed.. I hope its a simple fix but i highly doubt it. I have to drive to Ca to get her fixed too..

ummm Do the IT thing, Turn it off make sure everything is where its supposed to be and try again. Is 4L locking, did you put it in neutral and try that?
