• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Yes i want to make some upgrades, planning on a canopy and rack for a roof tent, 3 inch lift wheels and tires, just shopping around right now trying to find the best deals.

I know you didn’t really say you want the tent just yet, but when you do I highly suggest the Smittybilt Overlander. Much cheaper than other options at around $450 and works just as well.

I have all the camping gear but now that i have the tacoma just seems so easy to put it on the roof and open up and you are done!, thank you for the info! ill make sure to save it and do more research!

If you have a link to that smittibilt overlander please share it, thank you!!
We got it from Amazon Prime. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KCFKPX0/?tag=tacoma3g-20

I had the price completely wrong, I was thinking of something else I had bought for $450 around the same time. It’s actually $900 on Amazon and maybe slightly cheaper on some other sites with sales. Sorry about the false hope of a super cheap tent.

Getting some auxbeam LED bulbs tomorrow to upgrade my headlights! nothing big but i have to start the upgrades somewhere!

i lived in portland, used to ride camas / larch mtn. miss that area so much.

welcome

I will be back up in Seattle in July so when you start modding let me know, always here to help, also in september when my bumper shows up, im trying to find a member that will let us have a get together at their house so we can hang out and cut into my truck

My auxbeam led bulbs got lost and now waiting for amazon to refund my money, that sucks but on a good note got my ARE shell ordered and will be ready in 5 weeks just in time for family camping!

Just ordered an ARE too. 5 Weeks out then going to add a platform bed. Excited to play around with the layout.
nice! its been 5 weeks and no shell yet! im really upset because i am going camping next week and was counting on the extra storage! oh well!!

Here is a picture with my window tint and before and after my ARE shell.

Here is an update on my truck, got rid of trd offroad grill and upgraded to the trd pro grill, looks way better! also i had to buy the tss sensor front garnish.

Color matched the toyota grill letters to white.

not sure what to upgrade next but i have also been working on recovery gear.
