• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

Finished building this camp drawer and wiring this new dimmable light last week!

Things are mounted. Aluminum flat bar and angle with stainless nuts and bolts for a "custom" xbull mount.
Modified the pax Tacoma bed rail plates since I want everything below the diamondback cover.

How much modifying did this take? Because those are slick. I've been wondering if those RotopaX Cans would be mounted underneath a Diamondback. (which I can see they do very nicely)

These were the tacoma/frontier plates here. You can see where it is designed to be mounted. I moved the mount down, to clear the bed cover.
One of the bottom holes didn't line up to a solid surface due to pax putting their name on the plate. So it's tied in 3 of the 4 carriage bolts.
Since the side of the bed interferes with the bottom carriage bolt, I bought jam nuts. This replaced the nylon nuts that were included.
I used blue loctite on the bottom carriage bolt with the jam nut.

Geez, we're on page 100? Okay. I installed some new fancy mudflaps. Did I make a video? You bet your ass I did. Will I edit and post it in the the forseeable future? Who can tell. I'm happy I went with red though.

That is so obnoxious, and I mean it in the best way ever. I thought my Calvary Blue was polarizing to people, but yours has to be either a love or hate. I would never do it to my own, but I definitely love seeing it.

Mine is boring compared to Stormtrooper, but I knocked out the "move A/C drain off the frame mod" and have a nice, little tool roll setup for myself that fits neatly behind my rear seats.

You stole my paint design, lol... looks great . I am planning on doing similar, a little more grey/ Black....But your truck is killing it!!!!
Thanks dude! Can’t wait to see yours! My matching TRDPro door emblems should be on Tuesday, along with the bedside decal, the little accent detail should be 👌🏽

Went up to the sno-park. It has been super crowded all season but not now! No more than 5 vehicles there all day. I guess everyone has moved on to the spring activities. There was at least 3 feet of snow. We had an excellent time

No adventures today. Laid on the couch until noon and then finally got the roof lights setup in a way where the wind noise is minimal. It was so loud before you couldn't talk in the cab. Also did some work on the limb risers but I need a few more parts before I can complete it. Hopefully will finish that tomorrow.

Spent a nice, quiet afternoon in the local springtime cypress swamp after an overnight shift. Deer bleating, turkeys barking, myriad birds singing, and a good book, a good lunch, and even a run down the trails made for a good day.

That looks like a nice brake controller, but I know I would smash my knee on that all day! lol
Since I live in a place with a stupid high property crime rate I will only have it actually mounted while I'm using the trailer BUT in testing I only brushed near it and never actually hit it so yay for being average height I guess?

Wait a minute, turkeys bark? and deer make sounds? I have fleets of both in my hood. Our deer are silent and our turkeys gobble. I am intrigued by these differences!

Yep. Bucks grunt, does and fawns bleat. Turkey hens make this clucking sound that is a bit of a bark. Look it up on YouTube.

looks like a mosquito heaven what do you use to keep them away. Since leaving SE Texas, I don’t have that problem at 7500ft, but going to Alaska they where a problem. I got a Thermacell, because I heard good things.

Different note, I installed Bed Stiffeners today, should be getting my 1/2 bed rack this week.

Nice. Have some bed stiffeners on the way also. Went with Leitner's, since I plan to eventually use their bed rack system.

mosquitos were not bad. Still early, and where I was at the water is moving with lots of fish in the water, so not exactly mosquito heaven :).

But to keep out a couple no-see-ums, I just zipped up the mesh windows in the tent

Finally got these back after 3 weeks... smdh
Need to clean the mothers cmx ceramic off the area with a few rounds of simple green and then stick and pull some painters tape a bunch of times over the area to pull the ceramic off, get some double stick 3m, then slap these bad boys back on!
