We just wanted to post up a couple threads, introducing our products, our thoughts on the products, product description, reasoning behind the design etc: please feel free to comment here with your experiences and feedback. And as always we are always here if you ever have any questions.

The TPAM for the 3rd gen Tacoma.

Designed to be a lightweight and strong dash accessory mounting base for phones, gps, tablets etc.

It is a highly versatile system with pre threaded (inserts) patterned after the RAM diamond mounts.

Included with the TPAM is a standard low amperage dual usb Charger : this usb Charger is capable of charging phones and tablets at a nominal rate, for those that desire more performance we now offer a (now more popular) usb fast Charger from Blue Sea Systems (thanks @Hodakaguy ??) as an upgrade.

The TPAM mounts to the top of your radio bezel, using through bolts (requires drilling) and goes one step additional for added strength with the two supplied support brackets that tie into your upper radio mounting bolts.

TPAM is a functional design and built for the trail and beyond.

Things to note:

The TPAM requires drilling and some disassembly of your dash for installation

We supply all necessary hardware for installation along with a harness and connectors to tap into the cigarette lighter for power.

As always we stand behind our products and offer a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects and workmanship.

For technical assistance or feedback we are avail at jeff@expeditionessentials.com

Been eyeing this along with the compressor mount! awesome work on designing functional products!

Do it man! I could not be happier. Have the compressor mount and the Tpam, both are functional and fill a void....that you didn’t even know you had :ROFLMAO:

They are super functional and very well made.

I need some pics of your rig btw ?

^^that piece going from the main mount to the dash to make it flush new? Never remember seeing that before?? I’ll be purchasing mine right after Xmas. Think it’s the only option strong enough for a iPad Pro.

Yeah it’s new and it’s awesome! Works on the first gen and the second gen TPAM

Here is a pic of original TPAM with the wire cover.

That looks navigation AF. I still don’t have one but it’s been on my wishlist forever. I think I could get a lot of use out of it on my Cali to NY trip coming up, especially with the iPad up there that the wife can use while shotgun. I gotta order soooooon.

Doooo it! Make sure if you have a WiFi only iPad you get the Bad Elf GPS. Otherwise it won’t be accurate

This is something I wouldn’t have known about, so thank you. Is Bad Elf a backend GPS improver that allows you to use your navigation app of choice?

Correct. It gives your iPad a GPS signal (otherwise you would have no GPS at all), so you can use Gaia, Google Maps, etc. Just make sure if you go off-grid you download maps/routes to your iPad before you go.

Sweet. Bookmarking this, thanks!

Has anyone used the Garmin GLO for their GPS signal? Thoughts?
I just purchased the Garmin GLO 2 and used it in Tillamook State Forest this past weekend it seemed to work fine, however needs some more miles on it for a full assessment.

Do you have one or weighing your options?

Just weighing options

Just weighing options

Might be a little late, but I use this with Gaia on an old iPad Mini 2. Picks up a signal super fast, pairs nicely with the iPad. I used to use an old iPhone 5 and would say the Garmin is every bit as accurate if not more in some places. I will say I'm thinking about just getting an iPad with integrated antenna, cause EVERYTHING wants a 12v/USB port these days and I'm running out of places to charge things.

About halfway through installing this, but had to quit due to it getting dark at 1630. I know I'm going to like it and it was a fairly simple install.

My only suggestion is the instructions it shipped with, the small pictures don't work in black & white. I can't see anything in them, I resorted to using a YouTube video (which I think is linked somewhere in this post or on the exe site). Can that just be uploaded to Google Docs, or something, so I can see the pictures in color?

I agree the instructions are a bit dismal. but its a pretty easy install. I watched the video on an install and 20 minutes later I had it done.
