• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

What's up guys... I am shopping around for a tailgate spare tire system. I seen that C4 just made one that swings out and connects to your hitch. Also Wilco has one any suggestions or likes on specific brands? Thanks!

I have no experience with one yet but CBI, Bruteforce & SOS Offroad are other options to look into as well if you are looking to upgrade your rear bumper as well.

This is the trailer hitch swing arm I ordered. Should be shipping here at the first of April. They designed this one off of a Tacoma but will work with almost any truck. Then they have a 4Runner specific model as well. Keeps your weight low, and gives you the ability to have a nice tire carrier, and I opted for the added table.

I actually really like that, but it seems like most of these systems get in the way of the rear camera, and it's crazy how much I rely on that thing.

Haha yeah, I will probably relocate it when it becomes more of a permanent feature of the truck.

I always had my eye on the Wilco one myself when I wasn't sure what I was doing for a rear bumper. That newer RIGd one looks very solid too. I suppose it would come down to price between those two.

@C4 Fabrication high clearance with swingout/tire carrier. worth it 100%

That doesn't look like Florida!
Oh it’s not! Bought my truck is San Diego. Currently stationed out here, but 650$ for registration is too much, so I registered it in Florida when I went home for the holidays
