Hello Friends,

I'm on a stock suspension and would like to get sliders on before I do any off-roading. I would like as much of a sleek profile as I can get. Any recommendations? I live in MN and am wondering if there are any local vendors but am open to any suggestions.

Hit up Brandon at Avid Offroad. They are in the Phoenix area, but can ship. They can also make ones that are more low profile and to your liking.
+1 for Avid. I actually just installed mine this morning and made a thread about it with a very detailed write up. So if you go with them, you (the OP) can use it for very thorough installation instructions lol

Jon is usually easier to get ahold of too. Jon@avidoffroad.com

And they offer a 10% tacomaworld discount

I should have mine this week sometime. Just finishing up with powdercoat. Too excited to get them on the truck.

Nice. Yeah I got mine earlier this past week and then threw them on this morning. I think they look great and they're definitely of quality build and material.

In my write up, I included a PDF of the email Brandon sent me to help with installation, and then took it about 10x further with my own level of detail lol

Awesome! Thanks, bro!

Sleekest profile sliders would be the rockyroadoutfitters sliders. I have them on my truck. I looked at every company out there and decided to go with these. I’m personally not a fan of having wings on the side of my truck so these fit the script. They are prob one of the strongest built sliders on the market. Their description is actually pretty funny too. Here’s a pic of mine. For the price they are also one of the cheaper solutions but that doesn’t mean the quality is not there. They come powder coated as well. And they also make kickout sliders. Not sure why people need to pay 1300$ for half the quality of these and look like they are ready to take flight. But..... to each his own!

These look great! I will definitely check these out. I appreciate you sharing. What size lift do you have? Do you ever regret not having a step? Just trying to consider all options... Thanks!

... And I assume these are the regular sliders and not the Super Sliders, right?

In that pic i had an icon 1.5in aal in the rear and up front i had my fox coilovers adjusted to about 2.25inches. Those are also 33 inch tires.
It can be used as a small step but i didn’t want a step. Since they are so close to the body i just step over them. Im about 5 11.
If a step is your concern these wouldn’t be the best option. They are also higher than most other brands so by the time your foot gets to the bar, you could pick your foot up an inch more and be in the truck.

These are the super sliders. I’ll get better picks this weekend

Good to know. I don't think a step is necessary. I like the look of those. I'll probably end up going with the supers also. I look forward to the pictures... Thanks for all the advice!

Hell yeah. I also don’t like the look of sliders. The Jeep JK has some super sleek sliders that look great but I’ve never been able to find some for the Taco. Never heard of or seen these until now. Looking forward to the additional photos.

Nice to know about the Rocky Road sliders - just ordered a pair. Thx!

From my experience with them, they took a little while to ship, and I didn’t get a tracking. Could have been something wrong with the email. They just showed up one day and it was a nice surprise. Great product but they are a little slow. Maybe a phone call wouldn’t hurt if u haven’t already.

Also to note with these sliders. Unlike other ones that only bolt to the frame. These bolt to frame and to the body seam. Requires drilling 4 holes in the body seam and a few holes through the frame.
Some say that design isn’t the best because the body flexes from the body mounts to the frame and can cause vibrations.
IMO this is the strongest way to hold the body tight with the frame especially for a slam.
I don’t have any extra vibrations that people may speak of ontop of my wrangler mtrs which aren’t the smoothest Onroad anyway.

Also an instal tip would be to ditch the “self tapping screws” supplied for the frame and nut and bolt it. I can’t remember exact size but I drilled 1 size larger than the supplied self tappers and used the next largest bolt to fit. It’s a little tight to get a wrench in there but it can be done.

Happy drilling!
Oh and get urself some new bits ???

Some pics of the sliders. Showing the bolts to the frame, the smaller bolts through the body seam, and some different angles

How is the flex when you jack up the truck using the slider?

I have not tried it yet. But I’m sure there is no flex at all with the design holding the body seam and the frame. Also for how heavy duty they are.

where are you in MN. I recently moved here and have Mobtown Offroad. they hug the body really closely and are designed to really stick up to abuse.

if you wanna check em out let me know and maybe we can meet up.

They look great and so does the truck! I live in Hopkins. I just ordered the Rocky Road Super Sliders. Let me know if you find any trails. I'm new to the 4x4/truck/overlanding world so I still learning.

been trying to find some places to wheel myself. I've made note of all the gov't owned parks, they all seem to be 2+ hrs away and always better to go as a group.

if you need help getting them installed let me know. I'm in Plymouth, not to far away
