Welcome to T3G man! Great start on the build!

Welcome aboard.

Today I made the journey from the Bay Area to LA to pick up my new wheels and tires. Courtesy of Overland Market USA and bustabeatgeorge’s Instagram giveaway. (Thanks guys!)

Now I’m currently on the road back home because I have work in the morning. o_O:sleep::sleep::sleep:

Set of Volks TE37X in Matte Black with BFG KO2 285/75r16

Have completed a few things since I picked up my wheels.

Installed a @CaliRaisedLED OEM Switch Panel
Iztoss Switches (first set waspretty crappy quality tbh, but customer service was great and shipped out a second set which worked great)
Saving third switch for some rock lights in the future. Also will be installing a auxiliary fuse panel in the engine bay for all my extra accessories. Just waiting on a Paranoid Fab fuse panel.
IMG_0024.jpeg

Installed a @CaliRaisedLED behind grille LED bracket with a single row 32" amber/white LED Bar. LED from @bustabeatgeorge(IG) when I picked up my wheels and tires. Then took the truck out for a short trip to Hollister Hills for two days.

Once I came back from my trip, I got to installing a 2" front leveling kit to get the new wheels and tires on until I get a full suspension.
Supreme Suspensions 2" Leveling Kit

The Shop San Bruno hooked me up with mounting, balancing, and a alignment.

She sits good for now. No issues rubbing or anything like that even at full lock. Will be doing a CMC probably before the next trip so theres no issues when aired down. Otherwise loving the way she looks!

Today, decided to take care of the annoying AC drain and relocate it. Out here in the Bay Area rust is imminent, especially living right by the ocean.

Took off the felt pad, those little clips are a b****. Or maybe my gloves were holding me back.
IMG_0322.jpeg

IMG_0323.jpeg

IMG_0325.jpeg
Picked up 3/8" ID tube from the local automotive store as well as a 3/8" male-male coupler. I will say that the OE drain is a little smaller than 3/8" however I used a zip tie to hold it together. Used almost all of 4' of tubing, cut off probably 4-5".

IMG_0326.jpeg
IMG_0329.jpeg
Ran it through and zip tied it to a few points along the way. Works out great, and will keep any eye out for it over the next few days to see if it has any issues. Took all of 10minutes to complete. Simple job to help avoid issues with rust on the frame in the future.

Today I decided to install my auxiliary fuse panel in the engine bay.
Used:
Paranoid Fabrications blank panel
Blue Seas 12 pos/neg fuse panel
Bussman 100amp circuit breaker
Screen Shot 2018-09-23 at 9.38.16 PM.png

Personally did not like the placement of the Paranoid Fabs holes, so I made an adjustment to sit a little higher. Not sure if this is my permanent solution. Depending on how many accessories I have I'll likely switch to something bigger or something to accommodate a Switch Pros. Right now with my current accessories this will do, and gives me plenty of room for additional slots.

Will be adding a Blue Seas Below deck usb/12v dc outlet to the truck bed when I have time. I like the idea of having a usb plug for while I'm at camp or hanging out at the beach. Also will give me the opportunity to have a fridge in the future.
Screen Shot 2018-09-23 at 9.38.10 PM.png

I also got my BAMF CMC plates for my truck. Will be looking to get those cut and welded over the next couple of weeks as well.
Screen Shot 2018-09-23 at 9.44.22 PM.png

Made a few electrical upgrades...

Installed a Blue Seas Below Deck, 12v Outlet and USB charger in the bed. Was super useful during our last trip. Was able to connect some cheap LED Christmas lights as well as charge some of our devices without having to leave the car in accessory mode.

I also completed my custom install of rock lights.. leaving room to add more for the front when I get a bumper and some for the rear. Also super helpful on the last trip to TepuiFest as camp scene lights..

Lastly did a small but purely aesthetic mod, to paint the center of the rear drum brakes to matte black. Was getting super annoyed of the rusted look through the TE37x's ??

Finally got my suspension in. Shout out to ICON and Rogue Offroad for the 20% off Black Friday deal.
ICON Stage 4 with Tubular DJ

Spent the whole day buttoning up both the front and the rear. The next day took it into my Toyota Dealership to get my 10k maintenance and an alignment.

Also installed my Rago fab ditch brackets to my Baja Designs S2 Sports. Will be looking to extend my rear brake lines later this week and then out to Tahoe for some fun in the snow..

For rear brake lines I got Wheelers Offroad Black Friday deal.

After doing my suspension and alignment, I was definitely rubbing more than I was with my leveling kit. So I went ahead and did the CMC and pinch weld myself. Took a couple of nights after work, but now we don't have much clearance issues. May need to trim more of the plastic fender or shape it better but overall happy with how it came out.

Haven't welding anything in a really long time so my work isn't the cleanest but it does the job. :ROFLMAO:

Neighbors were probably annoyed of me grinding and banging in the late evening, but I was headed out to Tahoe for the weekend and this needed to be done ASAP.

This rubberized paint protectant is pretty cool. A little messy but it goes on thick.
Screen Shot 2018-12-20 at 8.19.49 PM.png

I then made a small change to my cable management in the engine bay. Ended up getting a PowerTray and downsized my Blue Seas aux panel from a 12 to a 6. Then with room for a future install of a Switch Pros SP9100. Once I get my SP9100 I'll be doing a full overhaul of the cable management. During the install the negative post on the Blue Seas aux panel broke, and I just received the replacement unit today and will be putting that in over the weekend.

Good job on doing the CMC yourself. I wanna try it myself but it might be the one thing I let someone else do.

Installed my Wheelers Off-Road extended rear brake lines today. Pretty straight forward install with no issues.

Got the chance to install my @Baja Designs amber fogs. Unfortunately during installation found one of the lights was defective. Shout out to Paul at from Baja for taking care of the unit. I’m receiving mine by next day air tomorrow. Really great customer service! A+

It was weird that only half the light was working. But love how they function. Super bright! They still output a lot of light even with half malfunctioning see below..

On the next day I shipped the unit back to Baja but had to wait until after the New Year.

Below is a comparison of the stock and Bajas. Passenger side is the Squadrons and OEM with amber LED bulbs on driver side.

Sick setup man! Is the color temperature of the baja designs fogs similar to 3000k LEDs? I wanna do yellow fogs but I'm not sure what would look better, the amber bajas or 3000k led bulbs.

Thanks! Similar color but definitely much more output with a wider field of view. I get a lot of fog here in the Bay Area close to the coast and it definitely helps.

Thanks! Before you got the Baja designs fogs what bulbs were you using?

I have the amber @bajadesigns Sport Squadrons in my fogs and they are amazing. Huge improvement and the build quality is solid.

Just some cheap bulbs from Amazon..nothing fancy. They did the job and were adjustable.

Definitely a huge improvment and they make a big difference in thick fog and snow. So glad I have them for my trip to Oregon this week. My eyes weren’t hurting or straining trying to see in the dark.

Haven’t done much to the truck recently. However finally got around to adding some lighting to the engine bay for when I’m working in there or some wrenching out on the trails at night.

Used some leftover rock lights and switch and got it all mounted and wired up. Pretty pleased with how it came out.
