Shimmy/vibration after leveling

2018 trd sport. Just put in a leveling kit took it for quick ride. Almost right from take off all way up to 35-40 (haven't gone faster than that yet) I'm getting what I would refer as a shimmy/vibration. Not sure if it will smooth out faster as I don't want to push it before I get my new tires on and alignment done. Maybe the alignment will do it but I also ordered a diff drop kit in case. Have you guys experienced this? I'm really hoping the alignment/diff drop will resolve any issue. I've also heard of the stupid needle bearing poss ilt being an issue but that seems pretty crazy after just putting a lift on. If it becomes that much of an issue I'll probably just take the kit off as I'm only putting on 265 70 17s and that should fit in stock thanks for any advice guys.

It is hard to say without physically looking at the truck. How much lift do you have?

Alignment, cv axle, needle bearing, driveshaft angle, and tire balance could all be possible culprits.

It's got 3 inches up front and 2 in the rear. Spacers on top of the struts and blocks under the springs (I know, cheap kit but it's 99 percent on pavement). Drove perfectly fine before, just seems to me like a million people must have put ten this combo on which lifts every truck exactly the same that there would be a universal solution especially brand new truck which eliminates any wear issues. Boggling to me. Before and after Pic attached

Since it is 3" which is really not that much, though still considered the beginning of the higher side, it could be the angle of your CV axle shaft or driveshaft. A driveshaft carrier bearing drop is a simple spacer the bolts in using the bolts that are there, so that is a place to start.

So would you recommend that if after the alignment and balancing is done of I still have a vibration I should drop the front diff as well as the carrier bearing together or try the diff first? I guess I'm asking would it do any harm to drop the diff without also dropping the carrier bearing? Also isn't their also times when you need to shim the rear blocks with shims to angle it? I guess that would achieve the same result as dropping the carrier bearing. The kit I see in Amazon is 1/4 inch spacers, I suppose I could just put that equivalent in in washers tit see first

Hey man glad to see you made your way over here from TTE. I had a 3” spacer kit on my TRD Pro before I swapped out the suspension and an alignment fixed my issues, however, if it persists try the drive shaft carrier bearing drop and then do the diff. After that you can move on to the needle bearing and so forth from there. Check in and let us know what’s going on after alignment! I hope that fixes it for you dude

Try the alignment and then carrier bearing.

I agree with everybody else as far as the process of elimination. Alignment, carrier bearing then consider needle bearings. The needle bearing is fairly easy to diagnose since it's a rhythmic vibration that disappears in 4x4.

My $ .02 on the diff drop is it's completely pointless. I installed it and have since removed it. It's actually more of a diff rotation which could potentially lead to dry seals. Also it's a 1 inch loss of ground clearance for very minimal improvment in CV angles.

Let us know what the alignment does and then we can start looking into the other things. I know something like this is very annoying. I actually have a sound/click at full turn while backing up but it isn't the tire rubbing.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I’m running the same set up and I’m having the same issue. I installed the t-case drop kit that can with the lift.

No diff drop , rear pinion angle get it checked and shimmed
