• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Hey Gang,

I had been slacking in my build page for quite a while, so I did something. I deleted my old build, and am creating a new one, which seems easier than going through and editing the entirety of the old post I had already created. So lets begin, this may be a long one, and full of pictures.

The focus point around my build was to create an adventure ready Tacoma that would be dialed for extended travel and camping as well as great off-road performance. When I joined Tyler to help with Tacoma3G.com I knew I wanted to use my Tacoma to help promote this community by attending other groups events, and organizing off-road and social gatherings for our community. Of course this was not my initial plan when I had purchased a 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro back in December of 2017 when I had just gotten back from a deployment, but as I dove into this lifestyle and community I soon realized that @Tyler was onto something big that I had fully supported from the beginning! The start of this stemmed from a meet right before creation of the forum at Otay Truck Trail in southern California's beautiful San Diego. I was instantly hooked after this meet, having the opportunity to be introduced to so many great people. Fast-forward to a few months later when I decided to wrap the Tacoma with the Tacoma3G.com Logo! This has been one of my greatest experiences and always will be. This community is so rich, and I am always eager to meet new people, and help however I can. So Enough with the Story, and heres my parts list and some pictures to follow!

Man, I remember when the truck only had the tent on it. It has come a long way in a short amount of time, trail carnage included.

I also love the colored format of the new build thread. It gives it a refreshing feel. Then again, I’m a forum nerd, so I’m probably excited for nothing. Great write up and story nonetheless!

Haha it’s okay I’m right there with you. Needed to add color

Love the truck and what you are doing with the T3g crowd.

The driveshaft doubles as a skid.

Jk, it especially doesn’t when you have a longbed like me. :(

Wired up the 12V plug and voltometer to the bed, however i need to rewire with 10 AWG wire as the 14 AWG doesnt sustain the current. Also got the ARB dual in with inflation kit and bedside cubby mount from @ExpeditionEssentials should finish everything up on friday to hopefully go camping on sat/sun!

Nice! I look forward to seeing it. I gaze while you all do these things lol. I bought my truck in a bad time, currently working on buying/ building a new house and possibly starting my own business lol. So the truck gets gas that’s it for now. I’ll be there someday!

Besides my wiring the wrong gauge wire, not terrible. Its all re-wired now and performed flawlessly on my last trip, fridge ran all day/night/morning and with my new battery i never dropped below 12.8v

I am debating between companies, they all seem to be about the same price range though. Do you have any suggestions? was looking at C4, CBI and Bruteforce for swing outs.

Oh and BTW love the youtube channel so far and made sure to subscribe for future content, keep up the good work!

You have a beautiful truck, hoping mine will get to be a beast like that soon. Did you have need to do a cmc to run 315's?
