• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

I am a 1st time Tacoma owner and love it. Already added a cover in the back and just ordered the cali raised bed stiffeners. Slowly but surely going to be doing more mods. Back story I bought the truck brand new from dealer. It was making a wong wong wong sound when ever i would break or slow or accelerate. Toyota added some suctions cups and pin pointed the sound and figured it was the transfer case. They gave me a rental while all this was going on and they changed out the transfer case and now no noise. At first they thought it was flat spot on the tires.

I talked to the dealer stating that I just bought the truck and it was having issues already, they were just going to take the truck back BUT!!! My Wife and I did/did not know that we had 10 years 100,000 mile power train added to the truck. Everything mechanical is covered. Long night and with son running around, we did not know but but did know, So we were just signing papers.

So I just kept the Tacoma, to note that I had already tinted the truck and sprayed 3M automotive fabric guard and a few other things. I am still happy with it and so far no further issues. Cant wait to give you all some more stories and build up.

Welcome to T3G! Interesting situation you had at first. Any photos/plans for the truck?

Next plans are the Bed stiffeners I got from cali raised they get here friday. Then either going to get a bed rack, do an inch or so lift, BFGoodrich KO2 tires, front bumper with winch. Then making some trips. I want to go to my first overland expo in Asheville, NC but lets see how that goes. I will post pics this weekend doing install of bed stiffeners.

Nice! You'll love those bed stiffeners. Lots of extra holes for hooks. I recommend watching Maxx Powells install video as you go.

Yeah, Been watching him for a while. Love all the videos and supporting him through patreon after all his things got stolen. Will watch this video. Got them for that reason all the extra holes to tie down and I think they have for antenna. Thanks for the reply.
